A career with YKHC presents you with a great opportunity to provide a high level of care for a variety of common ailments, as well as a variety of health concerns that you would not otherwise gain immediate familiarity with in an average setting. Due both in part to environmental factors and the unique diets of our mostly native population, you’ll encounter cases such as rabies, scarlet fever, acute rheumatic fever, tuberculosis, celluitis and pneumonia. Botulism from some food delicacies is also a common malady, as are occurrences of MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus).

As an employee with Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, you’ll also have the support of an efficient tele-medicine program. Recognizing that many of the residents in the region live far distances apart, we began our Community Health Aide Program in 1970 in an effort to expand much needed medical services to some of the most remote areas of Alaska; providing a front-line of defense for 41 village clinics and 5 Sub-Regional Clinics and laying the groundwork for what has grown to become a robust tele-medicine partnership with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital in Bethel.

Whether working at our 100,000 square foot main facility in Bethel or one of our Sub-Regional Clinics, administering care to one of the outlying areas served by YKHC, you will flourish as you dedicate your talents with the full support of an organization that has been fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
